IEDES - Paris1 has a Documentation Center / Library located in the central building - Building 1, near the offices of the management (Room 025).

Specificity of the documentary collection

The library is multidisciplinary and provides a rich and varied collection of documents on economic and social sciences on issues related to development and the sciences and techniques of the relevant trades.

The development issue is tackled in various facets: economic, anthropological, social, ecological, legal, philosophical, geographical and also historical, and in the different regions of the world (Asia, Latin America, North America, Africa ...).

Many transdisciplinary themes, such as the city, migration, poverty, agriculture, religion, Islam, food, conflict, health, and gender, may be of interest to teacher- Students and doctoral students from the university.

The library enriches its fund on a regular basis, thanks to the professors and researchers of the Institute and researchers at the UMR Développement et Sociétés (Paris 1 - IRD).

Access to the documentary collection is via Alexandria software, available on 2 computers on the library premises, and more and more titles are also available on the catalog of SUDOC and Paris 1, the library being in progress Modernization and updating of SEO.

  • Master students (M1 and M2), doctoral students and lecturers of IEDES and UMR D & S and University Paris 1.
  • Students from other universities: by appointment.
  • Teacher-researchers from other Universities: by appointment.

Note: except for special authorization, the loan only concerns students, PhD students and staff of IEDES and UMR D & S.

From Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
